G-AMYJ Sepia Prints

This set of 3 images are from small 9.5 x 6.5 sepia prints. A little bit of camera shake can be seen in these images making them a little blurry. They depict G-AMYJ at Hannover airport.

The photograph can be dated to the mid– late 1950s based on a combination of the aircraft history and airport development. G-AMYJ, was operated by Transair and only carried Transair markings from 1953 onwards, which sets this as the earliest possible date. The terminal building visible is the original post-war terminal at Hannover Airport, which opened in 1952 and was substantially altered later in the jet age; its intact early-1950s architecture, signage, and apron layout place the image suggests this image is before the major 1960s redevelopment. The absence of jet aircraft and the dominance of piston-engined transports further reinforce this timeframe.
