This is one of a set of films recent acquired by the archive. It has remained undeveloped since it was shot circa 1968. The images recorded on it are a set of LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 steam engines. They all appear to be in or near a railways works. Through hasty research of some of the locomotive numbers, the time frame of 1968 can be arrived at as the trains depicted were being scrapped by that time.
I do not usually post images of “inanimate” objects, however, these are very strong images which have remained hidden on the film for almost 60 years. I decided to include them as part of the archive. There are another 3 films acquired along with this one and these all be added to archive in the future.
